Dear Robey Family,

It’s time to start another great year at Barbara B. Robey Elementary School! Whether you have been part of our family, or are new to the Rattler clan, welcome! We are excited to kick off a new adventure in learning.

As always, communication will be a number one priority for our school team. We will do everything in our power to help ensure the safety and academic success of all at Robey. It is imperative, as a powerful member of our school team, that parents communicate with their child’s teacher. If you have any concerns, whether they be academic, behavioral, or social, your child’s teacher is always the first point of contact. We are here to help you and your child be successful. For district information or upcoming events for our school, or PTSA, please visit our website at www.lesd.k12.az.us and join Barbara B. Robey Elementary School Facebook page.

The first week is always very busy with everyone getting back into a routine. Here are some reminders of important things to do before school starts and during that first week.

  • Registration – It is very important for your child’s permanent record file be complete. If you received a letter from the office regarding needed missing registration information, please make sure this information is received by August 3rd at open house. If you have any questions regarding this, please contact Nancy Voy, our school registrar, at 623-547-1402.
  • Health – Please make sure that your child is up to date on ALL immunizations. If s/he received shots over the summer, please bring those records into the nurse on or before the first day of school. All medicine (including cough drops) must also be brought into the nurse’s office in its original packaging.
  • Transportation – Please let your child’s teacher know how they are getting home that first day and after. For bus route information, please visit this website: http://www.lesd.k12.az.us/Content2/610
  • Supplies – We have posted our suggested school supply lists here for each grade level: http://www.litchfieldelemsd.az.schools.bz/1/Content2/300. Donations are always appreciated.
  • Meal Accounts – All information you need for Food Service is provided at this website: http://www.lesd.k12.az.us/administration/4. Here you can do online meal payments, apply for free and reduced meals, and get our menu options. Please remember to put money on your child’s meal account. Breakfast time also cuts off at 7:35. Please plan accordingly, and tell your child to eat first.
  • Behavior Expectations – To ensure an environment of optimal learning and academic growth, the district has placed guidelines for student behavior in place. Please read and review the student handbook with your child that first week of school to understand those guidelines. There is a signature page for both parent and student to sign and turn in.
  • Closed Campus – To ensure the safety and security of all at Barbara B. Robey Elementary School, we will continue to be a closed campus. All visitors are required to sign in at the front office before entering the building. Visitors must present identification to front office staff before entrance as well. Please bring a driver’s license or ID card. Visitors may not have access to the playground.
  • District Website – This site provides up to date information for parents, http://www.lesd.k12.az.us/. . Please visit our district website often. On this website, there is also a tab for parent resources, http://www.lesd.k12.az.us/featured/2, that provides information about everything from tax credit, menus, academic standard and testing information, and much more. Please check this site out.
  • Drop Off and Pick Up – We will again use the valet system from last year. A letter explaining this will be sent out.

We look forward to this year being another fantastic and successful year for your child and the school team. Please stay in close contact with your child’s academic team throughout the school year. Our successful partnership is vital to the success of our students. I look forward to seeing you at Open House on Friday, August 3rd from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. Have a wonderful rest of the summer as we prepare for another successful year at Barbara B. Robey Elementary School!!!

Yours in Education,

Sandra Flood – Principal
