Dearest Robey Families:
Seven years ago, I found myself given the amazing opportunity to be the principal at Barbara B. Robey Elementary School. These last seven years have been some of the most exciting and rewarding of my career. Together we have seen positive change, growth and development of our students and a continuation of Robey being the center of our community. It is a school and community to be proud of. It is with mixed emotions that I tell you that I will not be returning next year. Another opportunity has been presented to me in which I can take what I’ve learned here and make an impact in a different situation while helping to further my career. I cannot tell you how much I will miss Robey and the people here, and I will always remember this wonderful time in my life.
However, it is with great pleasure that I introduce to you Barbara B. Robey’s new principal for the 2019-2020 school year. Ms. Amanda Acosta has served in education for the last 19 years as teacher, instructional coach, district coach and student advisor. Ms. Acosta has been in the Litchfield Elementary School District since 2002. She is currently the assistant principal at Wigwam Creek Middle School. Personally she has lived in the west valley for over 40 years, is a mother of three children who attend Litchfield Elementary School District schools, and has served on a number of committees at the state level collaborating on issues such as assessment and adoption of new standards.
Ms. Acosta and I have worked together on a number of occasions, and I am proud to pass Mrs. Robey’s legacy school to her. She is a wonderful educator who will continue the excellence and dedication to students that you have expected from Barbara B. Robey Elementary School. Together we will inform you of a time where you will be able to meet Ms. Acosta.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Yours in Education:
Sandra Flood – Proud Principal of the Robey Rattlers
