Boys Basketball 8th

Game 1 vs. LTH

Game 2 vs. HER

The 8th grade boys opened up the season in striking fashion by jumping out to a 28-0 first quarter lead on the visiting Heroes from Heritage. The Cats had 6 players in the scoring column during the first stanza as they were hitting from all over the court. A tenacious team defensive effort allowed the guys to put the game away by halftime, with a 43-2 lead. They'll play again tonight, as they host the Mustangs here at home. Build on the good things boys!

Boys Basketball 6/7th

Game 1 vs. LTH

Game 2 vs. HER

The 6/7 Boys used suffocating defense and a big splash of offense as they cruised to the their first victory of the season. The guys put up 34 first half points, to the Heroes 3. It was a balanced good all around team effort as everyone contributed in some way for the win. They will be tested again tonight vs. the Mustangs here at home. Keep making progress fellas!

Girls Basketball 8th

Game 1 vs. LTH

The 8th grade Lady Wildcats kicked off their season in a dominant fashion, defeating L. Thomas Heck 31-2.  The Wildcats shared the ball unselfishly, played solid defense, and were led offensively by Kadya P. with 12 points and Mya A. with 7.  Great job ladies!

Game 2 vs. HER

The 8th grade Lady Wildcats continued their winning ways last night beating Verrado Heritage by a score of 38-6.  After a slow 1st quarter, the Wildcats were sparked by Danielle V., who scored 9 of her 12 points in the 2nd quarter.  Six other girls chipped in with the scoring, including Jataya H. who had a season high 8 points.

Game 3 vs. VER

The 8th grade Lady Wildcats suffered their first loss of the season, losing last night to Verrado 38-22.  The Mustangs took an early lead, but the Wildcats fought back to tie the game at halftime.  However, Verrado's 3-point shooting took over the 2nd half, as the Mustangs took the lead and never looked back.  The Lady Wildcats were paced by Kayda P. with 8 points, along with Danielle V. and Mia A., each with 6.

Game 4 vs. WIG

The 8th grade Lady Wildcat basketball team improved their record last night with a convincing win over Wigwam Creek, 34-8.  After a slow start to the game, the ladies turned it up thanks in large part to the rebounding of Cynthia L., Ella Q., and Jataya H.  Offensively, the Wildcats were led by Mia A. with 15 points, Alyson P. with 8, and Kayda P. with 7. Great job ladies!

Game 5 vs. LTH

The 8th grade Lady Wildcats improved their record to 3-1 with a convincing win over L. Thomas Heck, winning 30-11.  The girls got off to a hot start against the Pride, leading 24-2 at halftime.  Western Sky spread the wealth offensively, with Mia A., Kayda P., and Alyson P. each scoring 6 points, along with Danielle V., Cynthia L., and Avery S. each scoring 4.

Game 6 vs. VER

The 8th grade Lady Wildcats lost a hard fought game versus Verrado last night, 31-19.  After a back-and-forth 1st quarter, the Mustangs took control of the game with their full court trapping defense.  Alyson P. led the Wildcats with 8 points, with Kayda P. chipping in with 4, and Mia A. with 3.

Game 7 vs. WIG

The 8th grade Lady Wildcats had a convincing win at Wigwam Creek last night, winning by the score of 44-10.  The girls shared the basketball unselfishly, with Alyson P. scoring 6 points, and Grace M., Kayda P., and Avery S. each scoring 4.  The team was led, however, by Mia A., who scored a season/team high 20 points!

Game 1 vs. LTH

The Wildcats lost a close one to L. Thomas Heck in their home opener. The ladies came out strong in the first quarter playing great defense. Trapping at half court Destiny, Bre, and Ryanne caused a handful of turnovers. At the end of the first half the score was tied 11-11. In the second half L Thomas Heck came out strong on offense. Getting some quick buckets under the basket. Wildcats Destiny L. kept Western Sky in the game by draining a couple of clutch 3 pointers in third quarter. However it would not be enough. L. Thomas Heck pulled away in the 4th quarter winning the game 38-26.

Game 2 vs. HER

Western Sky had a great team win against Verrado Heritage. The Cats came out hot with their tenacious full court press. Leading the team in steals in the first half was 7th grades Micaela, which resulted in a handful of points. Isabel turned it up in the second half with multiple fast break points. The Wildcats kept the pace up all game which was to much for Heritage to handle. Great win ladies.

Game 3 vs. VER

The 6/7th grade girls basketball team caught fire early against the posing Verrado Middle School. The Wildcats came out with aggressive defensive, and scored most of their points in the 1st two quarters off of steals and lay ups. Second half the girls executed plays well. Destiny leading the team with 17 points and a handful of steals. As well as Isabel putting up a gritty 11 points. This Wildcat team came out tenacious and it was an all around team win. All the girls were playing very hard. This game was won on defense and hustle. Great job ladies!

Game 4 vs. WIG

The 6th and 7th grade Lady Wildcats took a tough loss to Wigwam Creek in this epic battle. Wigwam came out aggressive in a full court press. Forcing the Wildcats to move the ball swiftly to get across half court. Leading the charge at point guard for the Wildcats was Isabel S. Finishing the game with 8 points and a handful of rebounds. Ryanne T. was also a menace on offense and defense, causing turnovers throughout the entire game. Early in the second half the Wildcats got into foul trouble loosing their starting point guard and team captin Destiny L, as well as starting point guard Ryanne T. It was a close game up until the final 4 minutes of the game when Wigwam Creek took over, winning the game 29-16.

Game 5 vs. LTH

The 6th and 7th grade Lady Wildcats took a tough loss to Wigwam Creek in this epic battle. Wigwam came out aggressive in a full court press. The Wildcats had a great win against Verrado. Western Sky got off to a hot start in the first quarter with their full court press, scoring 15 points in no time. Leading the way in scoring was 6th grades Destiny L with a season high of 17 points. The wildcats played very hard forcing 17 turn overs throughout the game. Star point guard and defender Ryanne Torres was a huge help on both offense and defense with great hustle and tenacity. Great win ladies!`

Game 7 vs. WIG

The Lady Wildcats had a tough loss to #1 ranked Wigwam Creek. Wigwam Creek came out strong in the first quarter with a 6-0 point lead. The Wildcats posed a comeback in the second quarter cutting Wigwams lead to 1 point at the end of the first half. In the third quarter the Wildcats kept it close with their full quart press. Destiny L. kept the team alive with a number of 3 pointers and great hustle. In the 4th quarter Wigwam Creek began to pull away with a strong defensive performance. Great hustle ladies.
