Parents who do not live in our district, or those who want their children to attend a school within our district other than the one whose boundary they live in, need to apply for Open Enrollment. All Open Enrollment Applications are done online. Students are accepted based on available classroom space at the school they have applied for.
The first round of Open Enrollment Notifications was sent in late April. The notification process will run through the end of July. Families who submitted Open Enrollment Applications by the first priority deadline of March 15, 2019 should have received notification by now. Applications received after March 15, 2019 are now being processed. We continue to accept applications for Open Enrollment. Please click here for more information and to submit an online application. It usually takes at least 2 weeks for applications to be processed and parents notified.
The Litchfield Elementary School District Governing Board recently voted to lower class sizes. We anticipate lower class sizes will enhance classroom experiences for teachers and students. However, the planning required to prepare for this change is significant. We are currently constructing school facilities, hiring teachers/support staff and modifying class schedules. We appreciate your understanding and support as we work to achieve a sustainable balance of several competing factors.
