Dear Falcon Families,

School Hours: Our school day begins at 8:15 AM sharp! Students line up on the playground with their teacher at 8:10 AM. Please emphasize the importance of being on time to your children. We start promptly and need students to participate in the class opening activities/directions and preparation for the day. Any students arriving after 8:15 AM are tardy and must report to the office for a pass to class. Our school day ends at 2:45 PM for Kindergarten, 2:55 PM for grades 1-2, and 3:00 PM for grades 3-5. Corte is a closed campus and visitors will not be permitted on campus without signing in at the front office.

Communication: If you would like to receive text alerts/updates regarding our school and upcoming events please text @df8edke to 81010. (Standard text message rates will apply)

Volunteers/Visitors: Parental involvement is highly encouraged at Corte Sierra. Please contact your child's teacher to arrange an appropriate time for you to assist in the classroom after you have completed the volunteer training. The link to our volunteer training can be found on the district website at You must wear your visitor sticker at all times while on campus.

As required by State Law, all visitors must first report to the school office to sign in and receive a visitor's badge. In addition, all visitors must have documented permission to be on campus. Visitors must be listed by the child's parent or guardian on the Emergency Contact List on file with the school registrar. All visitors are required to show a government issued I.D. each time you come on campus.

Visitors at Lunch: Parents are encouraged to come to school and eat lunch with their children. If you would like to have lunch with your child, please sign in at the front office (Please be prepared to show valid photo ID) and put on a café badge. The office staff will guide you to the cafeteria to meet your child and then utilize the designated parent table to eat lunch with your child only, not their friends. This is for the safety and security of all of our students. In addition, there are peanut free tables for those with peanut allergies. We request that only those with peanut allergies sit at these tables. Birthday parties are not allowed during lunchtime (cakes, balloons, etc).

Absence: If your child is sick, please call the Attendance Line to report your child’s absence as soon as possible at (623) 547-1002. If you know ahead of time that your child will absent (such as vacation, appointments, etc), let your child’s teacher know as well as the front office.

Closed Campus: Corte Sierra is a closed campus. Parents and/or visitors must sign in at the front office before heading to any location on the grounds. Please be prepared to show the proper identification.
