Arizona is a Great Place to Live

Picture of the State of Arizona

Arizona weather is some of the finest in the country. In the winter, you will experience mild temperatures and sunny skies. Snow skiing is available within a few hours at such resorts as Arizona Snowbowl in Flagstaff and Sunrise Ski Resort in the White Mountains. Summer temperatures admittedly are hot, but relief from the summer heat is available at swimming pools, local lakes, and rivers. Tubing, water and jet skiing, and boating are popular summer activities. Hiking and camping in the cooler climates are available within a couple hours’ drive. Other popular vacation spots, such as Las Vegas and San Diego are about a 5 hour drive from Phoenix...or a short one-hour flight.

Arizona is home to many professional athletic teams, including World Series Champions Arizona Diamondbacks (baseball), the Phoenix Suns (basketball), the Arizona Cardinals (football), the Phoenix Coyotes (ice hockey), the Phoenix Mercury (Women's basketball), and the Arizona Rattlers (arena football.) For race fans, we are also home to the Phoenix International Raceway. Phoenix is the spring training home to a number of professional baseball teams. Arizona State University is a short drive away and host’s outstanding collegiate events in football, baseball, basketball, wrestling, etc.

A number of museums are located in the Phoenix area, including the Phoenix Art Museum and the Arizona Science Center. Many big-name entertainment acts make a tour stop in Phoenix at our various venues including ASU Gammage, Chase Field, Wells Fargo Arena, Gila River Arena (formerly Arena), US Airways Center, and the University of Phoenix Stadium. Phoenix also hosts its own ballet, symphony, and opera companies.
